Women's BASKETBALL LISTED IN NCAA STATISTICS

INDIANAPOLIS --- The Tusculum College Women's basketball team is sixth in the nation in three-point field goals per game according to this week's NCAA Division II statistics announced College officials Tuesday.

The Pioneers (12-12, 4-9 in South Atlantic Conference) are averaging 8.3 three-point field goals per game, which are also tops in the league. TC's 198 three-point field goals are the second most in school history in a season, 46 shy of the all-time best 244 established last year.

Tusculum is eighth nationally in blocked shots per game, rejecting 5.2 shots per game, including 7.0 bpg in its last four outings. The Pioneers are also 38th in assists per game (16.3 apg), 42nd in turnovers per game (16.3) and 50th in three-point field goal percentage (35.2%).

Individually, senior guard Brooke Underwood (Knoxville, Tenn.) continues to be listed amongst the national leaders in assists per game. Underwood is third in the country, dishing out 7.63 helpers per contest, which is the best in the South Atlantic Conference.

Sophomore guard Ashli Oliver (Kokomo, Ind.) has been on fire of late beyond the three-point arc and is seventh in NCAA II in three-point field goals per game. Oliver is averaging 3.1 treys per game, including a sizzling 5.6 in her past six contests. Oliver has made 75 three-pointers this season, which are second all-time in TC history, nine shy of the 84 she recorded last year in her rookie campaign. Oliver's 75 treys in 2006-07 are currently seventh in the SAC record books.

Freshman center Lindsay Barta (Kalamazoo, Mich.) is 32nd in the nation in blocked shots per game. Barta is blocking 1.96 shots per contest, which are also second in the nation. Barta's 45 blocks are third all-time at Tusculum and 23 off the school record 68 set by Candice Combs during the 2002-03 campaign. Over her last four games, Barta is averaging 4.25 blocks per outing during that span.

The Pioneers will be on the road for their next two games, both in the State of South Carolina. Tusculum will travel to Newberry on Wednesday for a 6 p.m. contest against the Lady Indians. The Pioneers will play its final regular season road contest on Saturday at Presbyterian, beginning at 2 p.m.
