INDIANAPOLIS --- The Tusculum College Women's basketball team is fourth in the nation in three-point field goals made per game according to this week's NCAA Division II statistics announced College officials Tuesday.
The Pioneers are averaging 8.3 three-pointers per game, which is also tops in the South Atlantic Conference. In its last three games, Tusculum is averaging 11 three-pointers per contest, including 13 in Saturday's 73-59 win over Lincoln Memorial.
Tusculum is also 32nd in the nation in three-point field goal percentage (.358), 34th in assists per game (16.4 apg), eight in blocked shots (4.9 bpg) and 43rd in turnovers per game (16.5 avg).
Individually, senior Brooke Underwood (Knoxville, Tenn.) is fourth in the country in assists, dishing out 7.7 helpers per game, which also leads the league. Freshman Lindsay Barta (Kalamazoo, Mich.) is 49th in blocked shots per game (1.6 bpg), while sophomore Ashli Oliver (Kokomo, Ind.) is 14th in three-point field goals per game (2.8).
Tusculum (12-9, 4-6 SAC) hosts Catawba this Wednesday night at 6 p.m. at Pioneer Arena.
