Pioneers picked sixth in both men's and women's SAC Outdoor Track & Field

ROCK HILL, S.C. --- The Tusculum University men's and women's outdoor track and field teams were each picked to finish sixth in the South Atlantic Conference for the 2025 season, the SAC office announced Friday.

The Pioneer men placed third and the women were sixth at last year's SAC Outdoor Championship. At the 2025 Indoor Championship, Tusculum's women took fifth place and the men finished ninth overall.

Four Pioneers were recognized as Athletes to Watch for the 2025 outdoor season. For the men, junior sprinter Isaiah Olson and sophomore thrower Michael McGrath were honored along with junior sprinter Shanice Cox and freshman hurdler Kori Moore.

Olson (Greeneville, Tenn.) was the SAC Men's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Year last season after winning the 100 meters and the 4x100 relay, while taking third in the 200 meters at the conference meet. Olson was All-Region in both the 200 and 4x100 last outdoor season, and was All-Region in this year's 200 meters indoors after placing third at the SAC Championship.

McGrath (Boca Raton, Fla.) will compete in the javelin and discus for the Pioneers after taking fourth in the javelin at the NCCAA Outdoor Championship last year while competing for Kentucky Christian.

Cox (Minneapolis, Minn.) was All-Region during the indoor season in both the 60 meters and 200 meters, placing second in the 200 and fifth in the 60 at the SAC Indoor Championship.

Moore (Jonesboro, Ga.) was also All-Region indoors for the Pioneers, placing second at the SAC Championship in the 60-meter hurdles.

Wingate was picked to win the SAC Outdoor Championship in both the men's and women's events, followed by Lenoir-Rhyne and Lincoln Memorial on the women's side and by Lenoir-Rhyne and Catawba on the men's side.
