
LEXINGTON, Va. --- The Tusculum University men's and women's indoor track and field team participated on the opening day of the VMI Winter Relays at the Corps Physical Training Facility.
Junior Theresa Green-White broke her own school record and is the top seed in the women's 60 hurdles finals, while junior Isaiah Olson and junior Jahzara Hart also took the top seeds in Saturday's finals in the men's and women's 60 meters, respectively.
The Pioneers will resume competition on Saturday at 10 a.m. in eight men's and eight women's events.
MEN'S RECAP
Olson was one of three Pioneers to advance to the finals of the 60 meters, earning the top seed in prelims with a time of 6.85 seconds. Freshman Jonathan Harris was sixth at 6.99 seconds, and senior Joshua Stephens took eighth place at 7.00 seconds.
Stephens finished fourth in the long jump with a mark of 6.86 meters (22 feet, 6 1/4 inches), the third-best mark of his career and tied for sixth-best in program history.
In the shot put, junior Adrian Gumm placed third at 14.97 meters (49 feet, 1 1/2 inches), the third-best mark in program history, with junior Gavin Rowell in ninth place at 14.01 meters (45 feet, 11 3/4 inches).
WOMEN'S RECAP
Green-White was the top qualifier in the 60 hurdles and broke her own school record with a time of 8.57 seconds, breaking her record of 8.64 seconds set at the SAC Championship in 2024 and putting her into the top 10 this season in Division II. Freshman Kori Moore also advanced to finals by placing third in 8.83 seconds.
Hart was among four Pioneers to qualify for Saturday's finals in the 60 meters, running 7.42 seconds for her second-fastest mark of the season and the top seed in the field. Junior Kiera Taylor was third with a career-tying mark of 7.64 seconds, with junior Shanice Cox in fourth at 7.65 seconds and Green-White in seventh at 7.73 seconds.
