
LOUISVILLE, Ky. --- For the first time in her career, Danielle Jason has been named the Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division II Player of the Week. She is only the second Pioneer to collect the honor.
On the week, the graduate student averaged .762 at the plate with 16 hits, 17 runs, and 11 stolen bases across six games. Jason also added four runs batted in, four doubles, one triple, three walks, three sacrifice bunts, and 14 putouts in left field. She slugged 1.048 with a .792 on-base percentage.
Jason was a perfect 3-for-3 against Converse with three runs, one double, and two steals. She stole three bases twice, including a contest versus Lees-McRae in which she scored four runs.
On the season, Jason leads Division II with 14 stolen bases. She is also second in runs per game (2.25), third in steals per game (1.75), fourth in hits (18), sixth in on-base percentage (.767), seventh in batting average (.720), and eighth in doubles (5).
Tusculum (8-0) is off to its best start in program history.
