ROCK HILL, S.C. --- Claire Smeltzer was tabbed as the South Atlantic Conference WePlayed Sports Player of the Week on Tuesday (Feb. 6). This is Smeltzer's first career player of the week honor.

Smeltzer, a senior from Smithfield, Virginia, led the Pioneers to a 2-2 record, going 6-for-11 at the plate with four doubles and two home runs. The left fielder also racked up eight RBI with two runs, a walk, and a sacrifice fly. Defensively, she collected five putouts and one assist.

On day one of the Lowcountry Classic, Smeltzer had three doubles, including two against USC Beaufort, along with a home run. The final day was highlighted by five RBI and her second homer versus the Sand Sharks.
