ROCK HILL, S.C. --- Anna Alloway of Tusculum University softball has been named South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Player of the Week, the league announced today. This marks the second such honor of her career and only the second player in program history with multiple weekly conference laurels (Brie Griffin).
Alloway, a graduate student from Louisville, Tennessee, hit the 29th home run of her storied career over the weekend, tying her with Griffin for the program record. The mark has stood since 2007.
The Pioneers are on a seven-game winning streak, aided by a pair of sweeps during the week.
Alloway's bat did big work as the designated player hit .692, slugged 1.231, and had an on-base percentage of .733. She belted nine hits, four doubles, and a three-run home run to drive in 12 runs.
