
Tusculum College sophomore first baseman Kaytlin Stroinski has
been named to the Daktronics Softball Division II All-Southeast
Region team, as voted on by the region's sports information
directors.
Stroinski was a second-team selection at first base after leading
the Pioneers to the first South Atlantic Conference championship in
program history. The Howell, Mich. native hit .327 with five home
runs and 41 runs batted in and was a second-team All-South Atlantic
Conference honoree.
Stroinski started all 50 games at first base and tied for fourth in
the conference in runs batted in. She led the Pioneers in batting
average, runs scored (36), runs batted in, slugging percentage
(.524), on-base percentage (.429) and walks (20) while sharing the
team lead in home runs.
In 437 chances at first base, Stroinski made just three errors for
a .993 fielding percentage, and finished the season with 320
chances without an error over a span of 37 games. She had five
walk-off RBIs for the Pioneers, including three in extra
innings.
Through her first two seasons at Tusculum, Stroinski is a .322
hitter with eight home runs and 58 runs batted in. She has 96 hits
and 67 runs scored in 107 games, along with 43 walks and 20 stolen
bases in 22 attempts. Her eight home runs are tied for eighth
all-time in program history, while her 58 RBIs are 11th-best
all-time at Tusculum.
The Pioneers finished 31-19 overall and went 13-5 in the SAC,
winning the conference crown with a doubleheader sweep of regional
final participant Anderson on the final day of the regular
season.
