
GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- Alberto Chiaparini has been named the head coach of the Tusculum University men's volleyball program announced Josh Ealy, Vice President of Athletics.
Chiaparini, who has served on the TU coaching staff since August 2022, has been promoted to head coach after serving as Director of Volleyball Operations at Tusculum.
The Joinville, Santa Catarina, Brazil native is responsible for all aspects of the program including day-to-day operations, scheduling, practice organization, recruiting, NCAA compliance, player development, fundraising, academic advisement and alumni relations.
In his first two seasons on the Tusculum staff, he mentored the program's first-ever All-American in Deklan Wingo (2023) and two All-Conference selections in Shaphar Grant and Colby Landry during the 2022 campaign.
"I am very excited for Alberto and the future of our men's volleyball program," said Ealy. "Over the past two years, he has proven himself to be the right person for the job. He understands the task at hand and is a great fit for the volleyball program, our athletic department and Tusculum University."
Chiaparini was a standout outside hitter at Bluefield (Va.) College where he was the 2019 Mid-South Conference Player of the Year while leading the NAIA nationally in total kills. He was a three-time All-Conference selection (2018, 2019, 2021) earning All-Southeast Athletic Conference second team laurels in his freshman year (2018) and posted All-MSC first team recognition in 2019 and 2021. He was also a 2019 MSC All-Academic Team selection.

He graduated with cum laude honors from Bluefield in 2021 with his Bachelor of Science degree in health and physical education, as well as exercise and sports science. He earned his MBA from Tusculum in 2023.
The Pioneers will open their 2025 season on Jan. 9 when they face Cal State Northridge in Santa Barbara, California.
