LORETTO, Pa. --- The Tusculum University men's volleyball team lost its last match in the Northeast to Saint Francis (Pa.) on Monday (Mar. 11) night.
The Pioneers (4-14) were felled by the Red Flash (12-6) by scores of 25-15, 25-23, 25-22.
Michael Mosbacher recorded 10 kills on a .316 average to lead the attack for Saint Francis. Nathan Hayes (15) and Brayden Kuruzovich (14) combined for 29 assists. Mosbacher also led the Red Flash with a trio of service aces and eight digs. Nathan Zini was credited with three block assists at the net.
Colby Landry had a stellar outing with 16 kills on a .480 clip. Rounding out the scoring were Tristan Blake (5), Deklan Wingo (5), Donovan Nye (4), Morgan Makovec (2), and Jaden Bramhall (1). Blake accounted for 24 assists, while Landry added all three aces. Wingo finished with a team-best eight digs as Nye tallied three total blocks.
Saint Francis hit .352 as a team with 41 kills and 10 attack errors on 88 total attempts. Tusculum hit .211 with 33 kills, 17 errors, and 76 total attacks. The Red Flash led the match in assists (40-31), service aces (6-3), and total blocks (5-4), while the Pioneers tallied more digs (31-22).
Tusculum continues its lengthy road trip with a three-match weekend, starting at Belmont Abbey on Friday (Mar. 15). First serve between the Pioneers and Crusaders is scheduled for 7 p.m.
