Pioneers take 4-1 setback at Limestone

GAFFNEY, S.C. --- Limestone University picked up a 4-1 victory over Tusculum University in South Atlantic Conference men's tennis Saturday afternoon.

The Saints (5-4, 4-3 SAC) won the doubles point and took three of the four completed singles matches to claim the win over the Pioneers (4-9, 2-4 SAC).

In doubles, the first two completed matches were split 7-5, with Nathan Matsuguma and Angelos Avgeris beating Ramiro Rincon and Giovane Calou at flight three. At flight one, the Limestone team of Obrad Marovski and Rodolfo Villavicenci defeated Will Gee and Rens Verhaar 7-6 (7-5) to give the Saints a 1-0 lead in the match.

All of the completed matches were straight-set wins, with Matsuguma giving Tusculum its lone point with a 7-5, 6-2 victory over Come De Lorgeril at flight four.

The Pioneers will be home to take on UVA Wise on Tuesday, March 25 at 1:30 p.m. at the Nichols Tennis Complex.
