
GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- Tusculum University collected a 4-0 victory over Coker University in South Atlantic Conference men's tennis Saturday afternoon at the Nichols Tennis Complex.
The Pioneers (4-6, 2-2 SAC) won the doubles point and took three straight-set victories in singles to wrap up the win over the Cobras (3-9, 1-4 SAC).
In doubles, Nathan Matsuguma and Angelos Avgeris beat Joao Pugliese and Gijs Van Asdonck 6-3 at flight three, and at flight two Anton Krondell and Miles Ray defeated Benedikt Wittmann and Samuel Winter 6-3 to clinch the point for the Pioneers.
In singles, Krondell beat Tom Lamers 6-3, 6-1 at flight one, followed by a 6-0, 6-4 victory by Ray over Wittmann at flight five. Matsuguma clinched the victory for the Pioneers as he beat Winter 6-2, 6-3 at flight three.
The Pioneers close out a five-match home stand on Monday, March 17 against 21st-ranked Purdue Northwest, beginning at 1:30 p.m. at the Nichols Tennis Complex.
