
GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- The University of Indianapolis defeated Tusculum University 4-1 in non-conference men's tennis Wednesday afternoon at the Nichols Tennis Complex.
The 15th-ranked Greyhounds (9-3) fell behind to the Pioneers (3-6) after dropping the doubles point, but UIndy won all four completed singles matches to lock up the win.
Tusculum lost at flight one of doubles, but rallied with a pair of victories to go up 1-0 in the match. At flight three, Nathan Matsuguma and Angelos Avgeris beat Manu Lanteri and Lorenzo Di Cursi 6-3, and at flight two Anton Krondell and Miles Ray captured a 7-6 (7-4) win over Asier Ayllon Prado and David Simeonov.
In singles, the Greyhounds used a pair of straight-set wins to take a 2-1 lead in the match. At flight one, Krondell and Simeonov split a pair of tiebreakers before Simeonov prevailed in a supertiebreaker 6-7 (4-7), 7-6 (7-4), (10-7). UIndy would finish off the win with another straight-set victory at flight five.
The Pioneers host Coker on Saturday, March 15 beginning at 1:30 p.m. at the Nichols Tennis Complex.
