
CLEVELAND, Tenn. --- Lee University defeated Tusculum University 4-0 in non-conference men's tennis Sunday afternoon at the DeVos Tennis Center.
The Flames (3-0) won all three doubles matches from the Pioneers (1-2), then captured the first three singles matches in straight sets to clinch the victory.
Tusculum put up a strong battle in doubles, with Anton Krondell and Nathan West falling 7-5 at flight two to Filipe Krohn and Jackson Vaughan after Nathan Matsuguma and Angelos Avgeris dropped a 7-5 decision at flight three to Wihan van der Merwe and Rytis Razminas.
In singles, Krondell took van der Merwe to a tiebreaker in the second set but ended up falling 6-1, 7-6 (8-6) in the final completed match of the day.
The Pioneers will continue non-conference play with a trip to Lees-McRae on Thursday, Feb. 27 at 1 p.m.
