HARROGATE, Tenn. --- The Tusculum University men's tennis team dropped a 6-1 decision to 15th-ranked University of Charleston in non-conference play on the campus of Lincoln Memorial University on Sunday.
The Pioneers (0-1) picked up their lone point at flight two of singles, where Rens Verhaar defeated Omar Elsamahy by a 6-3, 6-4 score. Kai Poelchau went to a tiebreaker at flight four, but lost to Vicente Garcia 1-6, 6-2, (3-10) of the Golden Eagles (5-0).
Tusculum returns to the courts with a match at Milligan on Saturday, Feb. 15 beginning at 2 p.m.
