HILTON HEAD, S.C. --- The Tusculum University men's tennis team extended its winning streak to five matches with a 6-1 victory over Quincy University at Chaplin Community Park on Thursday.
The 50th-ranked Pioneers (8-3) went 3-0 during their spring break trip and lost just one team point in their three victories.
In doubles, Nemanja Subanovic and Anton Krondell won 6-2 at flight one over Inigo Villacampa and Zach Willing, with Tijn van Gorkom and Rens Verhaar taking a 6-2 win at flight three over Joseph Restrepo and Gianni Lopez La Mantia.
Tusculum went up 3-0 in the match as Will Gee defeated Restrepo 6-2, 6-2 at flight three and Krondell won 6-2, 6-2 at flight two over Willing. The clinching point came as van Gorkom defeated Ettore Pavesi 6-4, 6-4 at flight five, while Yuki Ikeda outlasted Sebastian Gomez 6-3, 7-6 (7-4) at flight six.
The Pioneers will visit Coker on Saturday, March 16 at 1 p.m. to resume their South Atlantic Conference schedule.
