HILTON HEAD, S.C. --- The Tusculum University men's tennis team won its fourth straight match on Tuesday with a 7-0 victory over West Virginia State University at the Van Der Meer Tennis Center.
The 46th-ranked Pioneers (7-3) have lost just one set in singles in their last three matches, and swept singles from the Yellow Jackets (1-4) in Tuesday's match.
In doubles, Nemanja Subanovic and Anton Krondell defeated Axel Dormann and Johan Karlsson 6-4 at flight one, Will Gee and Miles Ray downed Franco Farias and Elias Valencia 6-4 at flight two, and Rens Verhaar teamed with Tijn van Gorkom for a 6-2 victory at flight three over Heinrich Lindeque and Facundo Campana Urcia.
All six singles matches were played simultaneously, with Subanovic beating Karlsson 6-3, 6-1 at flight one, Krondell defeating Lindeque 6-1, 6-0 at flight two and Verhaar picking up a 6-1, 6-1 win at flight three over Dormann. At flight four, van Gorkom beat Farias 6-3, 6-1, while Sarthak Sharma defeated Urcia 7-5, 6-2 at flight five and Felipe Velasquez Quintana captured a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Valencia at flight six.
Tusculum will wrap up its spring break slate on Thursday, March 14 at 9 a.m. against Quincy at Chaplin Community Park.
