Pioneers ranked 46th in Division II this week

TEMPE, Ariz. --- The Tusculum University men's tennis team is 46th in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Division II National Team Rankings for the week of March 6.

The doubles team of senior Nemanja Subanovic and freshman Anton Krondell is ranked 42nd in Division II this week, and is the second-highest ranked doubles team in the South Atlantic Conference.

The Pioneers (5-3) are coming off back-to-back victories against Newberry (4-3) and Bluefield State (7-0). Each of Tusculum's three losses have come to ranked teams -- Saint Leo (3rd), North Georgia (16th) and Charleston (23rd). Tusculum is one of three SAC teams in this week's rankings, along with Lincoln Memorial (38th) and Lenoir-Rhyne (50th).

Subanovic and Krondell are 4-3 in doubles this season for the Pioneers, with both of their Division II losses to nationally-ranked opponents. The duo is 3-0 against region opponents and won its SAC opener last week against Newberry by a 6-4 score.

The Pioneers will face another ranked opponent when it plays the first of four matches in Hilton Head, South Carolina on Saturday. Tusculum will play 32nd-ranked Tiffin on Saturday at 10 a.m. at Hilton Head High School.
