HARROGATE, Tenn. --- The Tusculum University men's tennis team concluded action at the two-day Lincoln Memorial University Invitational Saturday afternoon.
The Pioneers swept the host Railsplitters in six singles matches and won three of seven doubles matches against Lincoln Memorial and Lee on Saturday.
In singles, Will Gee beat Radu Florea 6-3, 6-4 and Yuki Ikeda earned a 6-4, 3-6, (10-8) win over William Jonsson. Rens Verhaar picked up a 7-6 (7-5), 6-3 victory over Harper Milles, with Anton Krondell beating Luca Pavan 6-1, 6-1. Ivan Ivars outlasted Sandro Pacheco Perez 6-3, 6-7 (1-7), (10-7) and Sarthak Sharma was a 6-3, 6-4 victory over JP Santamaria.
In the doubles matches, Krondell and Verhaar earned two victories, beating Lincoln Memorial's duo of Francisco Faggi and Hugo Ruiz Espejo 6-0, and earning a 6-4 victory over Jordi Dasi and Viktor Yanev of Lee. Ivars and Sharma also defeated Faggi and Espejo, winning by a 6-2 score.
Tusculum will continue its fall slate by competing in the ITA Southeast Regional at Sumter, South Carolina beginning Friday and continuing through Monday.
