HARTSVILLE, S.C. --- Coker University improved to 6-0 with a 4-3 victory over Tusculum University in South Atlantic Conference men's tennis action Saturday afternoon.
The Cobras (6-0, 1-0 SAC) won the doubles point and split the six singles matches with the Pioneers (6-4, 1-2 SAC), including a pair of three-set victories.
In doubles, the team of David Akinpetide and Frank Bonacia earned a 7-5 win at flight two over Carlos Pinedo. Akinpetide also picked up a win in singles with a 6-4, 6-3 victory at flight one over Tim Schroeder.
Also winning for the Pioneers were Leon Huck, who downed Hunter Horton 6-1, 7-5 at flight three, and Manuel Guedes de Almeida who was a 6-0, 6-0 victor over Luis de Vuyst.
The Pioneers will be back in action on Thursday, March 12 with a 2 p.m. match at Francis Marion.
