
GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- Anderson's Inaki Iriberry clinched the deciding point at No. 6 singles as the Trojans rallied to a 5-4 South Atlantic Conference win over host Tusculum Saturday at the Nichols Tennis Complex.
Anderson (3-3, 3-0 SAC) rallied from 4-3 deficit to capture the final two points at the final two singles flights. Paul Calhoun won a three-set thriller (6-3, 6-7, 10-6) over TC's John Taylor at the fifth flight. Iriberry sealed the victory with his 7-6, 6-0 decision over Daniel Gianopulos at No. 6 singles.
The Trojans jumped out to a 2-1 lead in winning the second and third doubles flights by identical scores of 8-6 in pro sets. The No. 1 doubles pairing of Lukas Winkelman and Nicolas Planchard salvaged an 8-5 decision over the AU duo of Abdoulaye Camara and Jerome Baker.
Winkelmann and Planchard accounted for two points at No. 1 and No. 2 singles, respectively with straight set wins. Anderson's Daniel Gonzalez rallied from a set down to defeat Jonas Winkelmann 3-6, 7-6, 10-4 to tie the match at 3-3.
Paul Wiederspahn gave Tusculum a 4-3 lead with his 6-7, 6-4, 10-7 win over Loic Ambroise, before the Trojan rally in the final two matches.
Tusculum (2-3, 0-1 SAC) returns to action on Thursday with a road trip to Milligan for a 2 p.m. non-conference match against the Buffaloes.
