
GREENWOOD, S.C. --- The No. 12 Lander
University men's tennis remained undefeated on the season with its
9-0 home win over visiting Tusculum College Saturday afternoon.
The Bearcats (4-0) swept all three doubles points, including an 8-2
win at the No. 1 flight as pairing of Henrik Willers and Oscar
Perman defeated Tusculum's Luis Zamora and Tony Bujana, 8-2 in pro
sets.
Lander's Paul-Henri Arrigoni, the No. 19 ranked singles player in NCAA Division II, posted a 6-1, 6-4 win over Tusculum's Oliver Smith at the top flight. Willers (No. 40 in NCAA II) also won in straight sets against Zamora at No. 2 singles.
Tusculum newcomer Tony Bujana, who was playing in his first match since joining the team in the spring, dropped a hard-fought 7-5, 6-2 decision to Carlos Marques in the third flight.
The Pioneers (1-2) return to action next Saturday as they travel to in-state foe Milligan College for a 1 p.m. contest.
