
GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- The Tusculum College men's tennis team recorded a 9-0 victory over Johnson C. Smith University Saturday afternoon at the Nichols Tennis Complex. The Pioneers (1-0) are victorious in their season-opener, while the Golden Bulls fall to 0-2 on the year.
Tusculum swept all three doubles points including an 8-0 pro set victory by the No. 3 pairing of Sam Groenveld and Drew Kiser as they blanked Dion Chever and Barren Smith.
In singles play, Tusculum picked up straight set wins by Luiz Zamora, Steven Lin, Oliver Smith, David Hawkins and Gui Carvalho.
Tusculum returns to action next Sunday (Oct. 10) when the Pioneers host Bluefield State College for a 2 p.m. match.
