
CHARLOTTE, N.C. --- Paulo dos
Santos accounted for a pair of points as the Tusculum
College Men's tennis team defeated host Johnson C. Smith University
8-1 Saturday afternoon.
Dos Santos and No. 3 doubles partner Drew Kiser
opened the day with an 8-1 pro set win over Jamille Jones and
Jerald Stuckey. Tusculum swept all three doubles matches, including
an 8-2 victory at the second flight by TC's Steven
Lin and Oliver Smith. Tusculum completed
the doubles sweep with an 8-3 victory by the top-flight duo of
Luis Zamora and Henrique
Rodrigues.
Jason Stuckey accounted for the Golden Bulls? lone point as he
rallied from a set down to defeat Zamora 5-7, 6-0, 7-5 at No. 1
singles.
Tusculum (2-0) closed out the match with five singles victories
from Rodrigues, Lin, Smith and Kiser.
The Pioneers return to action Sunday, Oct. 4 as Tusculum travels
to Bluefield State College for a 1 p.m. contest. It will be TC's
final contest of the fall schedule.
