ROCK HILL, S.C. --- Henrique Rodrigues of Tusculum College has been named the South Atlantic Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week announced league officials Wednesday.
Rodrigues, a sophomore from Brazil, recorded a pair of singles and doubles victories to lead the No. 36 Pioneers to a 2-0 record last week.
In Tusculum's 5-4 South Atlantic Conference road win at Lincoln Memorial, Rodrigues posted a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Gabor Heredi-Szabo at No. 4 singles. He preceded that with an 8-5 doubles win with teammate Leo Guaycurus at the No. 2 flight.
Rodrigues followed that performance with a straight set (6-0, 6-0) win over Travis Vanhoy in Tusculum's 7-2 home victory over Lees-McRae.
The SAC Men's Tennis Player of the Week is selected by a vote of the league's sports information directors.
Following Wednesday's league match-up at Carson-Newman, the Pioneers return to Greeneville to begin a six-match home-stand on Friday when the Pioneers host Tennessee Wesleyan for a 4 p.m. contest at the Nichols Tennis Complex.
