KANSAS CITY, Mo. --- Tusculum University senior forward Luis De La Fuente has been honored as the United Soccer Coaches Division II Men's Player of the Week for the week of Oct. 10-16.

De La Fuente netted four goals in two matches to help the Pioneers stretch their unbeaten streak to four matches. He scored a natural hat trick in a span of four minutes in the second half as the Pioneers beat Emory & Henry 8-0 last Wednesday, then scored the Pioneers' lone goal in the first half of a 1-1 draw with Newberry on Saturday.

The Arriondas, Spain native shares the team lead with five goals and is second on the team with 10 points through 12 matches. De La Fuente, who has started the last seven matches for the Pioneers, is tied for third in the South Atlantic Conference with five goals in league play.

The Pioneers (1-6-5, 1-4-4 SAC) travel to Wingate (7-3-4, 5-1-3 SAC) on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. The Bulldogs have won five consecutive matches entering Saturday's contest.
