GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- Oscar Rubio Jimenez broke a scoreless tie early in the second half to help Tusculum to a 2-0 victory over Anderson in South Atlantic Conference men's soccer action at Pioneer Field Saturday afternoon.

Ayuk Tambe scored on a diving header just over seven minutes after Jimenez's goal to help the Pioneers (1-4-2, 1-2-1 SAC) to the win over the Trojans (4-3-0, 1-2-0 SAC). The victory also enabled Tusculum head coach Allen Vital to become the second coach in SAC history to win 100 regular-season conference matches. Vital has a 100-55-11 league record in 21 seasons in the conference.

Anderson had the match's first scoring opportunity just past the 14-minute mark as Lars Kaula had a look from 15 yards, but Tusculum keeper Ivan Safranic deflected the shot wide of the goal. Tusculum put two shots on frame in the first half, off the foot of Jimenez in the 36th minute and on a free kick from distance by Ivan Andabak in the final seconds of the half.

Tambe had an opportunity go wide in the first minute of the second half, then the Pioneers broke through at 46:17 as Renato Skoko went down the right side and played a cross through the box, which Jimenez collected coming off the left wing and fired past Trojan keeper Gal Elyashiv for his third goal of the season.

At 53:28, Tambe doubled the lead for the Pioneers on a brilliant diving header off a service from Clement Dagorn for his first goal of the year. With the two-goal margin, Tusculum focused on the defensive half and saved the shutout with 23:29 to go as Vasco Monteiro cleared the line on a header by Anderson's Thomas Joergsholm.

The final shot on goal in the match was corralled by Safranic with 16:46 to go on a shot by the Trojans' Gabriel Homem. Anderson had a pair of corner kicks in the last eight minutes but were unable to generate a quality scoring opportunity.

Tusculum ended the match with an 11-7 edge in shots and a 4-3 advantage in shots on goal. Both Elyashiv and Safranic finished the match with two saves, as the Pioneer keeper earned his first shutout of the season.

Anderson held a 7-3 advantage in corner kicks and was called for 13 fouls to 11 by Tusculum. The Trojans were also booked three times for yellow cards while the Pioneers were shown one card in the match.

The Pioneers will step back into non-conference action Wednesday afternoon at 4:30 with a road trip to Bristol to face King.
