HARTSVILLE, S.C. --- Senior Roberto Pimentel
scored the match-winner in the 78th minute to propel the Tusculum
College men's soccer team to a 1-0 South Atlantic Conference
victory at Coker College Saturday night.
The Pioneers (7-6-2, 4-4-2 SAC) have posted a 4-1-1 record in its
six contests in their final road match of the regular season.
Pimentel notched his team-leading eighth goal of the season, but his first match-winner of the season when he found the back of the net at the 76:16 mark, which was assisted by senior Juan Avendano.
Tusculum sophomore goalkeeper Jorge Alvarez recorded his fourth shutout of the season to improve to 5-2-1 in his eight outings between the woodwork. Alvarez faced 12 shots and recorded five saves.
Coker (3-7-5, 3-4-3 SAC) out-shot the Pioneers 12-11 and owned a 5-0 advantage in corner kicks.
Tusculum will play its final two matches of the regular season at home, beginning with Wednesday's 6 p.m. contest against North Greenville University.
