HARROGATE, Tenn. --- Tusculum College sophomore Jonathan Spicher's equalizer in the 87th minute helped the Pioneers get to overtime as TC and host Lincoln Memorial University played to a 1-1 draw in South Atlantic Conference men's soccer action.

With Tusculum (6-6-2, 3-4-2 SAC) trailing 1-0 in the final moments of regulation, senior Adam Kulbat's long throw-in to the box found the head of Spicher, who flicked the ball into the back of the net for his fifth goal of the season.

The only scoring chance in extra time came in the second overtime period when senior Roberto Pimentel received the ball inside the left side of the box. But LMU keeper Marcel Barwanietz came up off his line and made a kick save from 10 yards out to keep the match level.

Following a scoreless first half, the Railsplitters (7-3-3, 4-2-3 SAC) seized the only lead of the afternoon when Yuri Passos' corner kick found the head of Nathaniel Johnson, who sent in a shot to the far left post.

LMU out-shot the Pioneers 12-9, including a 5-3 advantage on shots on goal. LMU also led 6-3 in corner kicks in a physically played match that saw 42 combined fouls (LMU 25, TC 17), including four yellow cards (LMU 3, TC 1).

Barqanietz finished the match with a pair of saves, while Tusculum sophomore keeper Jorge Alvarez accounted for four saves, including three in the second period.

The Pioneers, who have posted a 3-1-1 record in its last five outings, will play their final regular season road match of the year on Saturday as they travel to Coker for a 7 p.m. contest in Hartsville, South Carolina.
