Goellner ranked second in NCAA saves

INDIANAPOLIS --- Tusculum College sophomore keeper Andy Goellner has climbed to second in the nation in saves per match in the latest NCAA Division II men's soccer statistics, through matches of October 3.

Goellner, a 6-0, 165-pounder from Denver, Colo. is averaging 8.44 saves per match through his first nine matches in goal, and moved up one spot from third in last week's rankings. The Denver South High School graduate also ranks 31st in Division II is save percentage at .817 through nine matches, while the Pioneers' team save percentage of .828 is 21st out of 177 Division II programs.

The Pioneers (2-5-3, 1-3 South Atlantic Conference) host Shepherd University for Homecoming Saturday night at 7 p.m. at the Niswonger Sports Complex / Pioneer Field in a non-conference match.
