Rich, Pioneers listed prominently in NCAA statistics

INDIANAPOLIS --- Sophomore Nick Rich is ranked third in the nation in assists per match, and the Tusculum College Men's soccer team is listed in 10 individual and team categories in this week's edition of the NCAA Division II statistics, announced NCAA officials Tuesday.

Tusculum (7-2-1, 3-2 SAC) is ranked 23rd in the nation in scoring offense (2.5), 30th in won-lost percentage (0.75), 36th in save percentage (0.814), 49th in team goals against average (1.06), and 68th in shutout percentage (0.3).

Rich, who leads the team with seven assists this season, is tied for third in the nation in assists per match (0.7) and seventh in total helpers. Anteneh Lemma and Andres Jarquin are also ranked 10th in assists per match (0.6), while Scott Lucky (0.5) and Lucas Paulini (0.4) are 32nd and 77th, respectively.

Lemma leads the way for the Pioneers in points per match (1.6), ranking 54th in the nation ahead of Joseph and Jarquin, who are tied for 84th with 1.4 markers per contest. Joseph is also ranked 46th in the nation in goals per match (0.7), while senior goalkeeper Lance Moore is ranked 42nd in save percentage (0.804) and 59th in goals against average (1.12).

Tusculum returns to the pitch on Wednesday when the Pioneers host arch-rival Carson-Newman College in a pivotal South Atlantic Conference match at Pioneer Field. The match is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. following the conclusion of the Women's match against King College (Tenn.).
