LANCE MOORE NAMED TO ACADEMIC ALL-DISTRICT MEN'S SOCCER TEAM

ROCK HILL, S.C. --- Becky Thompson broke up a scoreless tie with a goal in the 81st minute as top-seeded Lincoln Memorial edged No. 5 seed Tusculum 1-0 Friday afternoon in a semifinal match of the 2007 Food Lion South Atlantic Conference Women's Soccer Tournament at Manchester Meadows.

The Lady Railsplitters (14-4) advance to Sunday's championship match against No. 3 seed Catawba at 3 p.m. in Rock Hill. Tusculum falls to 14-6 and will learn its NCAA postseason fate when the national tournament field is announced after this weekend.

Stellar defense was on display as each team recorded 21 combined shots (LMU 12, TC 9), but only six total were on frame (TC 3, LMU 3).

LMU keeper Denise de Resende recorded the shutout as she finished with three saves, while Tusculum rookie sensation Tori Hadjopoulos was stellar as she allowed just one goal and accounted for a pair of stops in the loss for the Pioneers.
