LOUISVILLE, Ky. --- For the second straight week, the Tusculum University men's lacrosse team is receiving votes in the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Division II Coaches Poll, through games of Feb. 27.
The Pioneers are off to a 6-0 start following Saturday's 12-10 win at Alabama Huntsville. Tusculum's six-game winning streak is the longest in program history, and is led by an offense that is averaging 17.5 goals per game. The Pioneers, who are 3-0 on the road and 3-0 at home, are converting 51.9 percent (14-for-27) of their man-up opportunities through six games.
Le Moyne (2-0) remains number one in the rankings, followed by Tampa (3-0). Indianapolis (4-0) switched positions with Wingate (2-1) this week, as UIndy moved up to third and the Bulldogs dropped to fourth. Mercy (3-0) closes out the top five, with Limestone (4-0), Lenoir-Rhyne (3-2) and Queens (3-0) also representing the South Atlantic Conference in seventh, 10th and 12th respectively.
Tusculum is one of 18 teams also receiving votes in the USILA Division II poll, a group that also includes SAC rivals Newberry and Anderson.
The Pioneers will put their unbeaten record on the line on Saturday in their SAC opener against Mars Hill at Pioneer Field, beginning at 4 p.m.
