Tusculum College has placed two players on the All-South
Atlantic Conference Men's Lacrosse team, which was announced Monday
afternoon.
Sophomore Dallas Wade was a second-team selection at midfield and
senior Mitch Chapman was a second-team pick at defense, after
helping the Pioneers earn a SAC Tournament berth for the first time
in the program's three-year history.
Wade, a native of Victoria, British Columbia, led the Pioneers with
27 goals and 32 points this season. He also finished third in
ground balls with 27, and had a team-high three man-up goals. Wade
scored at least one goal in 11 of the Pioneers' 13 games, including
five games with three goals or more. He scored a season-high five
goals in a 12-11 win at Emmanuel on March 12, and carries a streak
of five consecutive games with three points into the
postseason.
In two seasons for the Pioneers, Wade is fourth in career goals
with 36, tied for fourth with 49 points, seventh in assists with 13
and ninth with 43 ground balls. He also ranks third in program
history with six man-up goals.
Chapman has been honored by the conference in each of his three
seasons with the Pioneers, having been a second-team selection in
2014 and an honorable mention pick last season. The Oshawa, Ontario
native tallied a goal and nine assists for 10 points this season,
and ranked third on the team with 11 caused turnovers. Chapman had
a season-high three points (one goal, two assists) in a 13-6 win
against Brevard on March 5, and had two assists in games against
Walsh (March 8) and Lincoln Memorial (March 30). Six of his nine
assists came with the Pioneers in man-up situations.
In 38 career games, Chapman is the program's career leader in
assists with 24, and shares the school record with nine career
man-up goals. Chapman is third all-time with 90 ground balls,
second with 45 caused turnovers and tied for 10th with 13 goals.
His 37 points are seventh-best in school history.
