Ross Parsons signs with Tusculum lacrosse

GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- Ross Parsons has signed a national letter of intent to attend Tusculum College and play lacrosse for the Pioneers announced TC head coach Richard Carrington.

Parsons, a midfielder from Coquitlam, British Columbia, is a 2013 graduate of Dr. Charles Best Secondary School where he was team captain and the program's leading goal scorer this past season. He helped the Burnaby Mountain Select Senior Elite club team reach the semifinal of the 2012 Dick's Sporting Goods Tournament of Champions. He also won a gold medal in the 2010 British Columbia Summer Games while playing for Fraser Valley.

"Canadian players are typically known for their shooting, stick handling, and overall offensive prowess. Ross combines all of those attributes with great size and athleticism," said Carrington. "Additionally, Ross is just as gifted offensively as he is defensively. We anticipate Ross causing several matchup problems as a two-way midfielder for us next season."

Tusculum College, located in Greeneville, Tenn., is affiliated with the Presbyterian Church, USA and is a NCAA Division II member of the South Atlantic Conference. Tusculum, the oldest college in the State of Tennessee, sponsors 15 intercollegiate sports, including men's lacrosse, which will be competing in its first season during the 2013-2014 academic year.

Tusculum, the 28th oldest college in the nation, is a liberal arts institution committed to providing a liberal arts education in a Judeo-Christian and civic arts environment, with pathways for career preparation, personal development and civic engagement. Approximately twenty-one hundred students are enrolled on the main campus in Greeneville and three off-site locations in East Tennessee. The academic programs for both traditional-aged students and working adults served through the Graduate and Professional Studies program are delivered using focused calendars whereby students enroll in one course at a time.
