NINETY-SIX, S.C. --- The Tusculum University men's golf team is currently in fourth place after 27 holes at the 2025 Bearcat Classic, which is being held at The Patriot Golf Club at Grand Harbor.

The two-day, 54-hole tournament is being hosted by Lander University and conducted on the par-72, 7,054-yard layout.

The Pioneers opened with an aggregate team score of 294 in their first round and were in eighth place. Tusculum is six-under par thru its opening nine holes of the second round to get back to even par, moving up four positions and are fourth in the 19-team field. This week's event includes seven nationally-ranked NCAA Division II programs including three top-20 teams.

Wingate is on fire in its second round where the Bulldogs are 15-under par as a team and are 16-under par for the tournament, 10 shots clear of fifth-ranked Grand Valley State (-6), who had the first round lead with 285. Lenoir-Rhyne is third at one-under par, while Tusculum is fourth at level par. Flagler is fifth at +1, followed by USC Aiken (+4), Anderson (+4), Ashland (+6), Lander (+7), Erskine (+11), Mount Olive (+13), Belmont Abbey (+14), Emmanuel (+16), Young Harris (+17), King (+19), Georgia College (+19), Limestone (+22), Newberry (+25) and North Greenville (+38).

Wingate's Jordan Hyland is nine-under par and has the 27-hole lead.

The Tusculum duo of Liam Hermansson and Blake Williams are both three-under par which has them tied for ninth place. Marinus Jeebe and Hunter Hartman are 43^rd at +3 while Harrison Price is tied for 99^th and is at +12.

The second round was halted due to darkness and will resume Tuesday morning, followed by the final 18 holes of the tournament.
