ORANGEBURG, S.C. --- Tusculum University's Dominic Barron Holden finished in sole possession of 10^th place at the 2024 South Atlantic Conference Men's Golf Championship. The three-day, 54-hole tournament was held at the Country Club of Orangeburg and hosted by Newberry College.

The Pioneers finished eighth in the team competition with a tournament score of 889 including Tuesday's 301 total.

Lincoln Memorial, the No. 3 ranked team in the nation, rallied from a seven-shot deficit and won by 10 strokes over runner-up Coker. The Railsplittters shot an even par total 280 for a second straight day to card a team score of 855.

Coker was second with 865, followed by Anderson (870), Carson-Newman (871), Wingate (878), Lenoir-Rhyne (880), Limestone (887), Tusculum (889), Newberry (890), Catawba (910), UVA Wise (957), Emory & Henry (986) and Mars Hill (1008).

Holden's 10^th place finish places him on the SAC All-Tournament Team for a second time in his career. His 54-hole total 73-69-74=216 was his fourth top-10 finish of the year and 14^th of his career (8^th in TU history).

Cole Haygood tied for 21^st place with 75-70-77=222, Isak Holter placed 37^th with 82-73-73=228, Blake Williams shot 77-73-81=231 and finished 43^rd and Morgan Cain posted 78-78-77=233 for 49^th place.

Holden's scoring average for the 2023-24 season lowers to 72.38 which is the fourth-lowest in program history. Monday's 69 was his eighth sub-par round of the season and 18^th of his career, which moves him into a tie for third place in the TU record book along with Brent Dyson (2000-2004) and Nick Forsberg (2012-2016). Holden also lowered his career average to 72.77 which is the second-lowest ever by a Pioneer (minimum 2,000 career strokes).

Holden and Cain have each played in 29 competitive rounds this year which is a new TU single-season record.
