GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- The Tusculum University men's golf team will open the spring portion of its schedule next week when they travel to Dade City, Florida for the Saint Leo Invitational.
The Pioneers will compete in five regular-season tournaments this spring, followed by the 2024 South Atlantic Conference Championship in Orangeburg, South Carolina.
Tusculum is coming off a strong fall campaign as TU recorded a pair of tournament wins at the King Invitational and the Bob Dibble Intercollegiate. The Pioneers also finished runner-up at the Limestone Invitational.
The Saint Leo Invitational will be held next Monday and Tuesday at the Lake Jovita Golf & Country Club. The Pioneers will be looking to improve on last year's 10th place showing which featured one of the strongest fields in NCAA Division II. This year's event will once again by 54 holes. At last year's tournament, Blake Williams was the low-finisher for the Pioneers as he tied for 11th place with a three-under par total 213.
Tusculum will close out the month of February when they travel to the Barton Spring Bulldog Clash, Feb. 26-27 at Pawley's Island, South Carolina. TU logged an 11th-place finish at the tournament a year ago in the 22-team field which was held at the Caledonia Golf Club.
The Pioneers will be at the Bearcat Classic on March 4-5 in Greenwood, South Carolina. TU finished 14th a year ago at Lander University's spring event at the Greenwood Country Club.
For the first time since 2016, Tusculum returns to the Hargett Memorial Invitational in Monroe, North Carolina (Mar. 18-19). The Pioneers have played in Wingate University's home tournament on seven previous occasions, finishing third or better five times including three first place showings in 2001, 2011 and 2015.
On Mar. 25-26, Tusculum will compete at the Tennessee River Rumble in Loudon, Tennessee at Wind River Golf Club. The River Rumble is hosted by Lincoln Memorial University and the Pioneers will be making their seventh appearance and first since 2022.
The 2024 SAC Championship will be conducted Apr. 21-23 and hosted by Newberry College at the Orangeburg (S.C.) Country Club. The Pioneers finished fifth at last year's championship, its best showing in the league in six seasons.
This year's NCAA II Super Regional will be held in Gainesville, Georgia (May 9-11) with qualifying teams advancing to the Division II National Championship in Winter Garden, Fla. (May 21-25).
