GAFFNEY, S.C. --- The Tusculum University men's golf team finished runner-up at the 2023 Limestone Fall Invitational, which was held at the Cherokee National Golf Club.

The Pioneers finished with a 54-hole total 893 including a final round 300 on Tuesday to finish a dozen strokes behind tournament winner and host Limestone. The Saints fired a Tuesday-low 290 and finished the event with 881 (+17).

North Greenville finished third with 893, followed by Young Harris (914), Spartanburg Methodist (920), USC Sumter (988) and Paine (1011).

Young Harris' Will Ranieri (78-71-71=220) and Limestone's Kristoffer Larsson (72-72-76=220) tied for first place honors. Ranieri would claim medalist honors in a playoff.

Four Pioneers finished in the top-10 led by sophomore Cole Haygood with his seventh place performance with 75-77-72=224. The trio of Morgan Cain (76-71-78=225), Liam van Deventer (71-78-76=225) and Dominic Barron Holden (74-77-74=225) all finished in a tie for eighth place. Liam Hermansson rounded out the Tusculum scoring with 82-72-80=234 to finish 25^th.

The Pioneers have finished first or second in its first three events of the fall. Tusculum returns to action Oct. 23-24 as TU travels to Toccoa, Georgia for the Currahee Collegiate Invitational.
