BRISTOL, Tenn. --- Tusculum University freshman Morgan Cain fired a four-under par 66 in his collegiate debut and is tied for the first round lead of the King University Invitational.

The two-day, 36-hole event is being held at the par-70, 6,474-yard Golf Club of Bristol.

Tusculum finished the day with a two-under par team score of 278 and is tied with Indiana (Pa.) who also shot 278. Emory & Henry is in third place with 279 and one shot behind the leaders. Young Harris is fourth with 282, followed by North Greenville (286), King (287), Emmanuel (289) and King B (292).

Cain posted five birdies on the afternoon including three on his outward nine for a 32. He moved his score to minus-4 with a birdie on No. 13 before surrendering a bogey on the 16^th. He bounced back with a birdie on No. 17 and would end the day with a par on the final hole for his opening 66.

Cain is tied with Jhon Ojeda of Emory & Henry who also shot 66 including a four-under par 31 on his inward nine.

TU senior Dominic Barron Holden overcame a shaky start as he was three-over par after eight holes, but would birdie four of his next six holes to get to minus-1. He would bogey the last hole and shoot 70 and is tied for seventh place. Teammate Isak Holter, who is playing as an individual competitor, also shot 70 and is tied for seventh.  Liam van Deventer and Blake Williams are tied for 14^th place with 71, while Cole Haygood is 23^rd with a 74.

Tusculum, who is the defending champion of this event, will tee off at 10 a.m. on Tuesday in the final round and will be paired with Emory & Henry and IUP.
