Kollberg first, Tusculum second after day one of Findlay Invite

LEXINGTON, Ky. --- Tusculum's Thomas Kollberg is tied for the lead at the Findlay Spring Invitational which is being held at the University Club of Kentucky.

Kollberg opened with a one-under par 71 and is three-under par for his second round with two holes remaining before play was suspended due to darkness.

The Pioneers are two-over-par for the tournament and are in second place in the 20-team tournament field. TU is five shots behind first day leader McKendree as the Bearcats have a 36-hole total of 573.

Tusculum shot 287 for Monday's first round and are three-over par as a team in the second round.

The Pioneers were one of seven teams who did not complete play on Monday. They will complete their second round and will close out the final round immediately afterwards.

Carl Miltun (Missouri S&T), Thomas Tollefsen (McKendree), Caleb Bond (Ferris State) and Kollberg are in a four-way tie for first place.

TU's Liam van Deventer is tied for sixth place at one-under par as he shot 72 to start the tournament and is one-under par through 16 holes. Riley Brown is 25th with +3, Isak Holter is 33rd at +4 and Nicholas Taggart is 75th at +10.

The two-day, 54-hole event is being hosted by the University of Findlay on the par-72, 6,859-yard layout.
