TU men's golf inks pair

GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- Two student-athletes have committed to attend Tusculum University and play golf for the Pioneers announced TU head coach Hunter Chandley.

Joining the Tusculum men's golf team in the fall will be Dougie Fezell and Morgan Cain.

Fezell played his prep golf locally at Greeneville High School where he was the ninth-ranked golfer this year in the State of Tennessee. He was also ranked in the top-1000 nationally for 2023.

Fezell led the Greene Devils to four TSSAA District titles including 2021 where he was District Individual Champion. In 2021, he won the Open@Willowbrook on the Sneds Tour.

Cain joins the Pioneers from Cork, Ireland where he attended Christian Brothers College. He has a 73.4 scoring average which includes a career-low tournament round of 66. He finished first at the 2021 Munster Boys Amateur Open Championship and was the medalist at the 2022 Castleroy Championships.

Cain is ranked sixth in the Irish u19 rankings and is listed 2982nd in the World Amateur Golf Rankings (WAGR).

"We are super excited in signing these two young men. Both bring a dynamic aspect to our team and both will fit right in with the rest of our men's roster for next season," said Chandley. "Both come in highly ranked and we look forward to leaning on them as freshmen to help the team be successful."
