DADE CITY, Fla. --- The Tusculum University men's golf team posted an opening round 298 and was in 11th place after 18 holes play at the Saint Leo Invitational, which is being held at the Lake Jovita Golf & Country Club.
Second round play for the 17-team tournament field was suspended on Monday due to darkness and will be completed on Tuesday followed by final 18 holes.
Lee University was the leader after the first round after posting a 278 and led second place Nova Southeastern by five strokes.
TU's Liam Van Deventer carded an opening round 72 which included an eagle, two birdies, four bogeys and 12 pars. Nicholas Marchese overcame an early triple bogey as he followed with four birdies in a five-hole span and finished with 73. Isak Holter carded a 76, while Dominic Barron Holden and Liam Hermansson shot 77 and 80, respectively.
