TAZEWELL, Tenn. --- Tusculum University's Mark Healy posted rounds of 72 and 74 to shoot 146 and is tied for 12^th place after day one action of the 2019 State Farm Intercollegiate. The two-day, 54-hole event is being held at Woodlake Golf Club and hosted by Lincoln Memorial University.

The Pioneers are in eighth place in the team competition after scores of 300 and 305 for a 36-hole total 605.­

Healy is in contention and is eight shots out of the lead held by LMU's Dan Bradbury who carded rounds of 70 and 68 for a six-under par 138. Newberry's Felipe Garces is second with 71-69=140 (-4), while the LMU duo of Harry Boyle (71-71) and Luke Harries (68-74) are tied for third with 142 (-2).

Host LMU has the lead after Monday rounds of 280 and 285 for an 11-under par total 565 and has a six-stroke lead over second place Newberry (286-285=571).

Queens University of Charlotte is third with 579, followed by Coker (586), LMU-B (587), Walters State (597), Catawba (597), Tusculum (605), Lenoir-Rhyne (606), LMU-C (614), Virginia-Wise (626) and Roane State Community College (657).

Healy recorded five birdies on the day including four in his opening round.

The Tusculum duo of Kyle Engelbert and Jeffery Perez are tied for 40^th place with a nine-over par total 153.  Engelbert opened with a 76 in his opening 18 and followed with a 77.  Perez shot 78 and answered with a 75 in his afternoon round.  Noah Jones is tied for 43^rd place with 75-79=154, while Bennett Noe is 49^th with 77-79=156.

TU's Liam Sweeney and Marko Jokic are playing as individual competitors.  Sweeney is 47^th individually with 78-77=155, while Jokic is 51^st with 77-81=158.

The final round will be played on Tuesday on the par-72, 6,746-yard layout.
