OCEAN ISLE BEACH, N.C. --- The Tusculum University men's golf team carded a two-day score of 606 to finish 10^th at the 2018 Myrtle Beach Intercollegiate, which was held this week at the Lions Paw Course at the Ocean Ridge Plantation.

The Pioneers posted a six-stroke improvement from Monday's opening round with a team score of 300 to move up one spot on the final tournament standings.

Sophomore Liam Sweeney led the day for the Pioneers as he fired an even par round of 71 to finish with 147 for the tournament and tie for 18^th place.  He battled back from a being two-over par after seven holes and recorded a pair of birdies and nine pars in his last 11 holes.

Junior teammate Matt DiBella posted back-to-back rounds of 75 to shoot 150 and tie for 30^th place.  Sophomore Bennett Noe tied for 52^nd place with 79-76=155 while Noah Jones posted 76-81=157 to tie for 58^th in this Tusculum debut.  Rookie Jordan Williams shot 81-78=159 to finish tied for 63^rd.

Co-host Lincoln Memorial held off a final round charge by fellow co-host Lenoir-Rhyne as the Railsplitters finished with 568, two shots ahead of the runner-up Bears (570). L-R posted a Tuesday-low 280 (-4) while LMU carded 289.  LMU's Dan Bradbury captured medalist honors as he led wire-to-wire with back-to-back rounds of 68 to shoot a 136 (-6).

Barton finished third with 578, while Limestone and North Greenville tied for fourth place with 584.  Anderson and Belmont Abbey tied for sixth with 600, followed by Mount Olive (601), Virginia Union (603), Tusculum (606), Cape Fear (609), Emmanuel (615), Virginia-Wise (623), Chowan (652) and Fayetteville State (681).

Tusculum returns to action Oct. 15-16 as the Pioneers travel to Morristown, Tennessee for the Walters State Fall Classic.
