GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- The Tusculum College men's golf team posted a two-day score of 577 to repeat as Tusculum Invitational Champions. The Pioneers captured its fourth TC Invitational crown in the last six years and its eighth overall title in the 23-year history of the event.

The two-day, 36-hole tournament was held at Link Hills Country Club on the par-71, 6,763-yard layout.

Tusculum senior Nick Forsberg led the charge as he tied for runner-up honors with 142, including Sunday's final round 74. Forsberg, who was playing in his final collegiate home tournament, finished second at last year's event.

The Pioneers shot 296 on Sunday and held on to win the team title by five strokes over runner-up Tennessee Wesleyan (582). Spartanburg Methodist finished third with 590, followed by Walters State (597), Anderson (603), Northwestern Ohio (606), Marian (609), Cape Fear (617), Lincoln Memorial B (619), Northwestern Ohio B (620), Tennessee Wesleyan B (622), Bluefield State (630), Northwestern Ohio C (643) and Virginia-Wise (659).

Evan Ball of Tennessee Wesleyan captured medalist honors by posting back-to-back rounds of 70 to finish with a two-under par total of 140 to win by two shots. This marks the 10th consecutive year that the tournament medalist has finished in red numbers.

Joining Ball and Forsberg on this year's All-Tournament Team are Travis Rodgers (Tennessee Wesleyan), Matthew Terry (Spartanburg Methodist) and Chris Hutson (Tusculum). Rodgers and Terry finished tied for second with 142, while Hutson won a playoff with TC teammate Brad Hawkins and Philip Fransson (Northwestern Ohio) at 143 to tie for fifth place.

Tusculum's Taylor Smith finished 14th with 72-77=149, while Preston Tucker rounded out the TC team scoring with 73-78=151, good enough for 23rd place.

Cameron Dugger, playing as an individual competitor, tied for 33rd place with 81-72=153. Senior Samuel Davis, playing in his final collegiate tournament at Link Hills, tied for 64th place with 84-81=165. Rookie teammate Heath Ratliff also tied for 64th with 84-81=165.

The Pioneers win their fourth team title of the year and are one victory shy of matching the school-record five team titles won in a season by last year's squad.

Tusculum returns to action Mar. 13-14 as they compete at the Hargett Memorial Invitational in Monroe, North Carolina. The Pioneers are the defending champions of the event, which is hosted by Wingate University.
