SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. --- Tusculum College junior Nick Forsberg finished tied for runner-up honors at the 2014 Food Lion South Atlantic Conference Men's Golf Championship on Tuesday. The two-day, 54-hole tournament was held at the Sevierville Golf Club - River Course.
The Pioneers finished fifth in the 12-team tournament with a three-day score of 306-301-328=935. TC finished 10 shots behind SAC champion Carson-Newman University, who fired 925, one shot better than runner-up Wingate University (936).
Forsberg posted a tournament score of 74-73-80=227 to earn a spot on the SAC All-Tournament first team. Wingate's Ben Gebhardt recorded an even-par score of 216.
Newberry College finished third with 931, followed by Lincoln
Memorial University (934), Tusculum, Queens University of Charlotte
(943), Coker College (950), Brevard College (963), Catawba College
(965), Mars Hill University (969), Anderson University (973) and
Lenoir-Rhyne University (976).
Tusculum juniors Warren Cheney and Coleman Glick tied for 20th
place with scores of 237. Senior Dakota Norton, tallied
77-89-82=248 to tie for 44th place in his final collegiate round.
Junior Leiff Ratliff placed 49th with 86-75-89=250.
