Pioneers third, Forsberg sixth at Walters State Fall Classic

MORRISTOWN, Tenn. --- Nick Forsberg carded an opening round 73 and is in sixth place following day one action of the 2013 Walters State Fall Classic. The two-day, 36-hole tournament is being held at the Country Club of Morristown.

The Pioneers posted a team score of 309 and is in third place, 12 shots behind co-leaders Tennessee Wesleyan and host Walters State at 297. Brevard is fourth with 310, followed by Lincoln Memorial (311), Berry (315), Brevard White (318), Berry White (328) and Virginia Intermont (354).

Tennessee Wesleyan's Josh Wheeler shot a four-under par 68 and leads the tournament by a shot over Brad Hawkins of Walters State (69, -3).

Warren Cheney is tied for 18th place with 78, while Dakota Norton and Coleman Glick each shot 79 and are tied for 23rd. Chris Hutson shot 85 and is tied for 45th place. TC junior Leif Ratliff posted a 78 and is tie for 18th, playing as an individual competitor.

The final round will be played on Tuesday.
