KNOXVILLE, Tenn. --- With just bragging rights on the line in what has become a favorite tradition of the Tusculum College and Lincoln Memorial University golf programs, the annual TC/LMU Match Play event was held Saturday afternoon at Holston Hills Country Club. This year marked the fourth time the two programs squared off.

Six alternate shot matches were played with teams consisting of one male and one female player from each school. Men teed off on the odd numbered holes, while the women teed off on the even numbered ones.

Lincoln Memorial prevailed wining four of the six matches.

In the first match, Tusculum's Leif Ratliff and Kelly Horrell posted a 1 UP victory over the LMU duo of Garrett Metz and Lindsay Davis.

The LMU pairing of Jamie Chapman and Danielle Burrell were victorious 5 & 4 over Dakota Norton and Alec Cunningham.

TC's Derek Cantrell and Sara Howard posted a 7 & 5 win against Jamie Reid and Lindy McGuire.

The Railsplitters swept the remaining three matches, including Connor Froning and Whitney Ball, as they defeated TC's Nick Forsberg and Calley Lawson, 1 UP.

The LMU duo of Rand Wasson and Desta Coaker defeated Coleman Glick and Jillian Corum, 3 & 2, while Braden Galyon and Brittany McCown completed the LMU scoring with their 3 & 2 decision against Warren Cheney and Emee Herbert.

The Tusculum men's team returns to action on Monday as the Pioneers compete at the Hargett Memorial. TC won the Hargett Memorial in 2011

The Tusculum women will host the Agnes McAmis Memorial on Apr. 8-9 at Link Hills Country Club. The Pioneers are the defending champions of the event, which is celebrating 16th year.
