
MORRISTOWN, Tenn. --- Tusculum's Nick Forsberg posted a two-over par 74 and is in third place after the first round of the Walters State Fall Classic on Monday. The tournament is being held at Country Club, Inc. in Morristown and is being hosted by Walters State College.
Tusculum posted a team score of 308 and is in third place, seven shots behind tournament leader Tennessee Wesleyan and two shots behind Pfeiffer (306). Walters State Blue Team is fourth with 316, followed by Lincoln Memorial (318) and Walters State White (328).
Due to the inclement weather that is forecasted to arrive tonight and tomorrow in the Morristown area, the tournament has been shortened to a 27-hole event with the final nine holes being played on Tuesday.
Tennessee Wesleyan's Cody Godfrey is the opening day leader with an even par 72 on the 7,055-yard layout. LMU's Jamie Reid is second with 73, followed by Forsberg, and TWC's Zack Hester. There is a five-way tie for fifth place at 76, including Tusculum's Leif Ratliff.
TC's Warren Cheney is tied for 12th place with 78, while Dakota Norton is tied for 18th with 80. Nick York rounds out the Tusculum scoring with his 83, which is tied for 27th place.
